After a day of giving them a cold shoulder due to the whopping number of violations they had committed, Kuya had finally radiated his soft, pleasant, and nurturing sides to the housemates of “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0” through his individual conversations with the members of the first team who took the courage to speak with him—as seen in the December 3 episode.
But prior to that, the housemates were given temporary freedom by Big Brother after they’d spent almost their entire day inside the respective cells of the group they belong to. While some of the housemates made the most of their interim release by joking around and bonding with one another, the other ones had taken this as an opportunity for them to share their sentiments with the housemates they’re closest with and even cheer those who were crestfallen.
As Big Brother continued to address them as “violators” following the numerous infractions they had committed, the housemates couldn’t help but express how they missed his presence so much.
The next day, the housemates once again heard the ominous heartbeat sounds, hinting that Kuya would have another terrible announcement. Joaquin Arce assumed that the number of violations might have risen up, which Big Brother confirmed by revealing through the plasma screen that the majority of the male housemates had committed a couple of violations anew.
Rave Victoria, Fred Moser, Iñigo Jose, Miguel Vergara, Heath Jornales, John Clifford, and Lee Victor all violated the rule of speaking without wearing lapels as they were about to sleep the night before, while Heath and Fred were caught whispering to each other. Thus, their collective number of violations had risen from 117 to 216.
While the housemates were having breakfast, Kuya’s signal for them to go inside their makeshift cells again started to go off, and this time all of them were able to make it right on time. Although they were “behind bars,” the housemates were still able to finish their meal, which they did by passing and distributing their food to one another.
Big Brother then told them to go to the storage room to collect their “report cards,” in which their violations were enumerated. Disbelief and disappointment radiated on their faces as they perused the details of their violations, especially those who had carried out the highest number of infractions, like Lella Ford.
After giving them silent treatment for an entire day, Kuya finally spoke to the housemates by letting those who would want to talk to him come inside the confession room. While the other groups were still huddling, the Palabanghels, comprised of Rave, Lella, Clifford, and Sofia Pablo, didn’t hesitate to go first, probably because two of the top violators came from the group—Lella and Rave.
Since Big Brother only allowed one person at a time, it was group leader Rave who volunteered to speak with him first. With 15 violations under his name, the “Optimistic Apo ng Tarlac” conveyed how apologetic and embarrassed he was of everything he had done wrong inside the house, as well as how much he understood the dismay and exasperation Kuya had been feeling towards them.
He was succeeded by Sofia, who also expressed immense regret over the violations they had made, to which she contributed five infractions. When asked by Kuya if they deserve his pardon, the “Strong-willed Sunshine ng Quezon City” believed that they were still worthy of being forgiven, yet she knew as well that they must be able to prove it.
Next in line was Clifford, who admitted to being a “rule breaker” even in the outside world, which is his way of gaining the attention and favor of the people around him. Furthermore, he also confessed that their punishment actually didn’t sink into him immediately and he even thought that it was unfair and too much. But Big Brother advised him that “pagpapakatotoo” is an act of integrity, so he doesn’t need to break the rule or do mischievous acts just to impress other people or be accepted by them.
Lella came in last, who told Kuya that their punishment had indeed brought her back on track and that she felt deeply sorry for all her transgressions. She couldn’t help but be emotional as she related how absolutely upset she was about herself for being in the situation that she actually wished not to be in, as well as for likely disappointing her family, especially her mom, actress-host Karla Estrada.
The “Blooming Bunso ng Tacloban” went on to impart the important advice that her Mama had given her before coming inside the “PBB” house, which was for her to stay true to herself and never show off, and for her to own up to her mistakes—to which Kuya couldn’t agree more. Thus, he hoped that this part of her “PBB” journey would help her become the better version of herself.
She may always appear bubbly, but Lella confessed to Kuya that it has always been her way of not showing her vulnerability to anyone, including her family. So, it was actually her first time crying that much in front of other people, which seemed to have surprised Big Brother. Kuya reminded her to always just pick herself up and that he has never judged the housemates based on their mistakes.
