New week, new groups, and new punishment for violations?
Following the departure of Star Magic actress Eliza Borromeo and Sparkle artist Marco Masa during the second eviction night of “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0” last November 29, Kuya immediately announced that the remaining 16 housemates would undergo the third group formation, in which there were going to be four teams comprised of two Kapamilya and two Kapuso housemates each.
But prior to the creation of new groups, the housemates had to go through the “leader task” to determine the four leaders that would spearhead the four new teams. The housemates were asked to proceed to the activity area one-by-one to take on the “leader task,” in which their agility and diskarte were put to the test, as they had to catch as many sticks as they could in each of the five stations. The four housemates with the highest accumulated scores were hailed as leaders of the third group formation.
In this “leader task,” the housemates had to go through five stations wherein they had to get a bunch of sticks from one container and place them on the back of their hand with their palms facing down. They had to throw and catch those sticks with the same hand still facing down and were only allowed one chance to do it in every station.
Whatever they could get their hands on within three minutes was multiplied by the corresponding number assigned in each station, and that would be their final score. The four housemates with the highest score would be proclaimed as the leaders of the third group formation.
The first one to take on the challenge was Ashley Sarmiento, who seemed to have a hard time just like her fellow Sparkle star Caprice Cayetano, who came after her. They were then succeeded by Lella Ford, Rave Victoria, John Clifford, Joaquin Arce, Princess Aliyah, and Fred Moser, who all appeared to have immediately figured out the right strategy in nailing the task.
Similarly, Iñigo Jose, Anton Vinzon, Miguel Vergara, and Carmelle Collado were able to get the groove right off the bat, as they were able to still keep many sticks in each station. On the other hand, Sofia Pablo, Lee Victoria, and Heath Jornales looked as though they were struggling to secure a number of sticks in every station. Krystal Mejes also found it difficult at first, but relaxing and staying calm had indeed helped her keep up in the next stations.
Before Kuya announced who were going to be the new leaders and proceeded with the new group formation, he told them to bid farewell first to their previous teams.
As he landed in 4th place after getting 69 points within one minute and four seconds, Anton was the first one to be declared as a leader. Rave got the same points but only finished the task in 48 seconds, so he made it to 3rd place. Making it to 2nd place was Fred, who got 72 points within 42 seconds. And raising the flag of girls was Princess, who got the highest point of 74—which meant that she only failed to catch one stick—within the least duration of 42 seconds.
Since she was the frontrunner, Princess was given the initial opportunity to choose her first member, and it was none other than Caprice due to the positive energy and aura that she always radiates. Fred opted for Iñigo to be his first member because of how physically and mentally strong he is, while Rave tapped Clifford to be in his group because he saw how determined and tenacious he was in their previous tasks. Anton finally had the chance to make his wish to work alongside Miguel come true, as he liked his mindset.
The next housemate to be part of Princess’ group was Joaquin, whom she admires for his being consistent and abilities. Fred then went for Heath due to his being mentally tough, while Rave chose Lella after seeing how she didn’t give up on their past challenges. Anton, meanwhile, wanted someone who’s confident and prayerful like Ashley in his team.
Princess completed her group by having Krystal aboard, while Fred opted for Lee to finalize his. Since they were the only ones left, Sofia automatically went to Rave’s group, while Carmelle got reunited with Anton.
After the four new teams were formed, Kuya gave them ample time to huddle and come up with their group name. Princess, Caprice, Joaquin, and Krystal call themselves “Big Back Dreamers”; the all-boys group of Fred, Iñigo, Heath, and Lee tag themselves “Interlinked Minds”; Rave, Clifford, Lella, and Sofia call themselves “Palabanghels” as they merged the names of the former groups where they came from; while Anton, Miguel, Ashley, and Carmelle aptly gave their group the name “Astig Divas.”
The following day, the remaining 16 housemates were awakened by Kuya via a frightening alarm sound, which was succeeded by heartbeats that went on throughout the day. As Joaquin peeked at the garden, he was surprised to see four cages, which really got him and the other housemates puzzled about what those could be for.
Big Brother finally ended their bewilderment by eventually flashing on the plasma screen found in the living room that 11 housemates had violated the rule against talking without using a lapel. Twelve more rules that the housemates had infringed were enumerated, along with corresponding numbers of people who had done it, as follows:
- Sleeping beyond the intended wake-up time – 10 violators
- Using codenames – 6 violators
- Eating inside the bedrooms – 11 violators
- Whispering – 2 violators
- Breach of confidentiality, or sharing confidential information – 5 violators
- Cursing – 3 violators
- Asking about the outside world – 4 violators
- Mouthing or speaking with no voice – 5 violators
- Destroying items inside the house – 3 violators
- Moving of furniture – 2 violators
- Covering the microphone while speaking – 1 violator
- Writing a secret message – 1 violator
Afterwards, the leaders received a signal from Kuya to collect the items he had prepared for each team from the storage room. As soon as they returned to the living room, Kuya reminded them of the punishment they got a week into their stay inside the house, as well as informed them about the number of violations that each housemate and each group had accumulated.
He started off with the “Big Back Dreamers” that got the least number of 19 violations after Caprice had 1, Krystal had 2, Princess had 7, and Joaquin had 9. The “Interlinked Minds” raked in a total of 32 violations after Heath got 5, Fred got 6, Lee got 8, and Iñigo got 13. Despite the name, “Palabanghels” garnered the highest number of 39 violations, as Sofia had 5, Clifford had 6, Rave had 13, and Lella had 15. And lastly, the “Astig Divas” had earned 20 violations after Anton got 2, Miguel got 3, Ashley got 5, and Carmelle got 10.
“Ang inyong violations ay hindi lang pagkakamali. Ito ay pagsasawalang-bahala ng aking tiwala. Hindi lang ito paglabag. Ito ay kawalan ng respeto. Masyado n’yo akong kinaswal—nagtatawanan sa oras ng pagseseryoso, pagbabalewala sa mga napagkasunduan. I am truly disappointed sa inyong lahat,” Big Brother conveyed.
Just when they thought that what Kuya had given them were sweet surprises, they eventually found out that the boxes collected by the leaders from the storage room actually contained four shirts and four badges that display the number of violations they had committed, which they have to wear in order for them to be reminded of their transgressions.
He then went on to reveal that the cages they saw in the garden area earlier that day were actually going to be part of their punishment. Every time they hear the sound of their wake-up call that day, they have to go inside their respective cells or cages until the time he sets. But they don’t have to be stuck outside since they are going to be allowed to take the cages wherever they have or wish to go inside the house.
They will only be given one minute to return to their cages after their breaks, and once they fail, it’s going to be added to their number of violations.
