Cher is undeniably one of the most iconic pop stars to grace the music industry. With her powerhouse voice, bold fashion, and endless string of hits, she truly stands as the Goddess of Pop---and on the “Your Face Sounds Familiar” stage, she remains one of the toughest artists to transform into.

Take a look at our 4 ka-Familiars who proved they're strong enough to showcase their Cher transformations.

Jolina Magdangal (YFSF Season 1, 2015) - “Believe”

Wearing Cher’s iconic gold costume, Jolina Magdangal went full diva as she belted out the classic “Believe.” She didn’t just sing like Cher---she nailed the nuances, the facial expressions, and even the speaking voice, making the performance a total transformation.

Judge Gary Valenciano was all smiles as he praised Jolina’s performance, pointing out how she stayed perfectly in sync with Cher’s original vocals---even without the effects. He called her nothing less than an extraordinary performer.

Judge Sharon described Jolina’s performance as entertaining and noted that she perfectly embodied Cher. Coach Jed Madela emphasized the resemblance, saying, “This is by far the most perfect performance that you’ve done. The look, the voice, the aura… the best.”

Jolina placed 5th at the end of the season.

AC Bonifacio (YFSF Kids Season 1, 2017) - “Believe"

Even the kids edition of “YFSF” had their own Cher moments, and AC Bonifacio showed she could be an American popstar with her take on “Believe.” From the look to the vocals, she nailed Cher’s iconic style perfectly.

Judge Ogie couldn’t help but highlight AC’s “sindak factor”---that rare quality that leaves audiences stunned. “Alam mong meron kang quality na kakaiba, ‘sindak factor,’ ‘yung kapag nagpe-perform ka nakakasindak,” he said, praising how AC wowed everyone with her talent.

For Judge Gary, he was impressed. He highlighted how, as a dancer, she managed to tone down her energy to match Cher’s vibe. “AC, I’m a believer of your talent. Keep it up,” he added with a smile. Judge Sharon loved how AC projected herself on stage, saying it was very Cher-like. She appreciated how AC managed to act so convincingly despite being a dancer bursting with energy. It may have been tough to channel Cher, but Sharon said AC nailed it perfectly.

AC placed 3rd at the end of the season.

Esang De Torres (YFSF Kids Season 2, 2018) - “Believe”

Dressed in shimmering silver, Esang De Torres delivered her Cher performance with confidence. As a singer herself, she captured the popstar’s vocals and impressed the judges.

Judge Gary immediately wrote “Wow, what a voice” in his notes. He highlighted how Esang applied everything what coach Jed taught her. Judge Sharon echoed his sentiment, noting how impressive it was that such a young girl could project such a powerful voice. “Lumabas talaga si Cher, that was a very good job,” she remarked.

Judge Ogie concluded the feedback by commending Esang’s performance, saying, “I really liked the way you copied her voice, vocally perfect.”

Esang placed 3rd at the end of the season.

Christian Bables (YFSF Season 3, 2021) - “Strong Enough”

Christian Bables performed Cher’s 1999 classic “Strong Enough,” and he became Cher for the night, turning the stage into a mini concert.

The judges were clearly impressed, with Judge Sharon praising Christian’s effort, “Ang lapit sa boses ni Cher. ‘Yung movements mo, yung nuances, I am just blown away by it.” She even acknowledged how challenging it must have been for a guy like Christian to pull off such a transformation of an opposite gender.

Judge Gary acknowledged Christian’s ability to embody performers of any gender. He noted, “Nakaka-entertain at nakaka-impress ‘yung ginawa mo because it was the hardest piece and the level of difficulty was way up there.” He commended Christian for his impressive performance. Judge Ogie commended Christian’s performance, saying, “Kakila-kilabot ‘yung galing mo. Grabe.” He observed that Cher’s nuances were well executed and described the act as “Beri Gud Jab!”

Christian placed 5th at the end of the season.

Jason Dy (YFSF Season 4, 2025) - “DJ Play A Christmas Song”

Another Cher moment came from Jason Dy, who lit up the stage with the 2023 holiday hit “DJ Play A Christmas Song.” Dressed in a silver ensemble complete with earrings and Cher’s signature wavy hair, Jason fully channeled the Goddess of Pop in his performance

Jason went all out with live vocals, serving a true production number worthy of Cher herself. The judges loved it---so much that Judge Sharon and Judge Ogie gave him a standing ovation, applauding Jason's performance.

“That was flawless, Jason,” Judge Sharon declared right away. She added, “Whenever you come out to do something, we already know it’s going to be good.” Sharon expressed her joy that Jason was the one to transform into Cher, saying he nailed everything just like the Goddess of Pop herself.

For Judge Gary, Jason wasn’t himself onstage---he was Cher. “Physically, kayang‑kaya mong gawin si Cher… pinag‑aralan mong mabuti talaga ‘yung character ni Cher,” he praised. Wrapping up with a playful “Cher‑s to you,” Gary cheered Jason for an excellent performance and even noted he could star in a musical.

And to wrap it up, Judge Ogie declared that Jason has proven he’s truly good at what he does in every aspect. “Napaka‑amazing mo, wala akong masabi,” he said, adding that Jason’s performance even gave him goosebumps.

In every Cher performance that graced “YFSF,” the ka‑Familiars proved they were strong enough to channel the Goddess of Pop herself---capturing the icon’s voice, style, and stage presence with impressive dedication.
