The good times and creative drive don’t stop for Ka-Familiars Akira Morishita, Alexa Ilacad, Dia Mate, Jarlo Base, Jason Dy, JM Dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano (JMielle as duo), Rufa Mae Quinto and Pepe Herrera.

When the question of which artist or icon they wish to impersonate raised, most of the Ka-Familiars spoke of reputable and legendary figures who became an irreplaceable part of their childhood, as well as those with whom they connect on a personal level.

One of the most anticipated celebrity performers on the show, Comedy Bombshell Rufa Mae, is confident in her ideal impersonation and firstly mentioned hot and trending singers of this generation, such as “Espresso” hitmaker Sabrina Carpenter and soloist-slash-Blackpink member Lisa.

“Lahat sila gusto ko, kahit naman sila Tyla… Lahat ng kumanta,” Rufa Mae expressed. The comedianne-actress also listed household names in the international music scene—Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, and Fergie, among others.

This season’s frontrunners, JMielle, chose power couple Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez for their dream impersonation as a duo.

Individually, JM chose the Chief of OPM, Ogie Alcasid, who is also one of the season’s judges. He emphasized that he has admired him for years and has been imitating his vocal nuances since childhood.

As for the biritera Marielle, Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo is her one and only choice.

Proving she can keep her momentum with one scene-stealing performance after another, Gen Z Total Performer Alexa takes inspiration from the multitalented American singer Doja Cat. “Not saying na kaya ko ha. Gusto ko lang kasi favorite ko din si Doja Cat,” she clarified.

A dominant voice of the international charts, American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars is Akira’s perfect fit. “Idol ko talaga siya… Ever since nung bata ako, kinakanta ko [na] yung mga songs niya,” the Ace Idol conveyed.

Another Ka-Familiar chose a longtime fan-favorite artist. The Prince of Soul, Jason, without hesitation, chose music legend Stevie Wonder. “He’s really my musical influence, and I learned how to sing R&B because of him. I grew up listening to his music,” he underscored.

Completing the roster of those who chose their idols, Pepe, the Theater Rak-Star, made his selections for both local and international artists—starting with Rico Blanco and then moving on to chart-topping musicians Bon Jovi, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, and Bob Marley.

For the Singing Reina, Dia vibes the most with pop sensation Dua Lipa. “I feel like we have the same type of music. I love singing her songs. They’re so fun, and I want to embody what she is on stage,” she mused.

Going beyond the music scene, the Breakout Crooner, Jarlo, prefers impersonating the King of Comedy, Dolphy. “Ang dami niyang napasaya… [Siguro] sa episode na iyon gusto ko ring ma-experience ‘yung maging siya at makapagpasaya ng marami pang tao,” he explained.
