As always, the latest season of “Your Face Sounds Familiar” continues its highly anticipated episodes with fresh, unexpected makeovers and transformations.

After catching the fun chaos of Part 1 with Ruffa Mae Quinto, Pepe Herrera, Jason Dy  and Dia Mate, Kapamilya Chat now dives into the artistic heartbeat of the remaining five celebrity performers. The spotlight shifts to Jarlo Base, Akira Morishita, Alexa Ilacad, and the pairing of Marielle Montellano and JM Dela Cerna aka JMielle, as they reveal how their creative sparks turn into show-stopping acts.

Marielle and JM’s version of “A Star Is Born”

After performing as legendary international singers Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli, Marielle and JM’s next impersonations feature the paired characters of pop singer Lady Gaga and American actor Bradley Cooper from the 2018 film “A Star Is Born.”

Marielle, portraying Lady Gaga, shares that it will be another challenge for her, particularly because of the difference in their vocal tones, as Gaga has a more projected singing voice. “Let’s see kung mamaya lumabas yung inner Lady Gaga [ko],” she expressed.

When asked how the duo connects with each other during their transformations, Marielle explained that they both focus primarily on technical aspects. especially vocals and give each other feedback on the techniques needed for accuracy. “Mas naging open din kami na sabihin… para sa mga assignment namin,” she shared.

As JM was busy with his makeover, Marielle made sure to thank their fans, her Mariellesters, and JM’s Balladears.

Before wrapping up the interview, she took on the quick impersonation challenge—briefly singing Daniel Padilla’s “Nasa Iyo Na Ang Lahat” and mimicking the voice of Sample King Jhong Hilario.

Alexa prepares as “Pretty Little Baby” singer Connie Francis

Alexa, who received a ton of praise for her portrayal of Chappell Roan, is about to have another trending performance as singer Connie Francis.

Since it was hard to locate videos to use as a reference due to the singer’s 1950s career, she describes the preparation as being quite the challenge. “Kung meron ‘man ‘yung naka-black and white or medyo malabo pa,” she explained.

It might seem like an easy vocal performance for Alexa, but Connie’s retro tone is actually tricky to imitate, especially since there are few special effects that can be used on the “Your Face Sounds Familiar” set. “[‘Yung] automatic vintage filter… kailangang tanggapin [na] hindi ko to talaga magagaya to a tee,” she stressed.

When asked about how her theater background helps her in her performances, she shared, “Mas may tapang ako to step on [the] stage… Kahit nagkakamali, tuloy lang.”

She also felt inspired rather than intimidated by the other celebrity performers. “Pumasok ako without the thought na kailangan kong manalo. Pumasok ako to learn and grow parang sa teatro,” she commented.

Jarlo Base finds more strength in his Jay R impersonation

The hand-picked Ka-familiar, who is already wearing his prosthetics, hasn’t fully recovered from the adrenaline of his Usher performance. “Until natapos ‘yung sa Usher na performance, hindi siya nagsisink-in sa akin,” he admitted.

In preparing for his next act as the King of R&B Jay R, Jarlo shared that his go-tos include sleep, videos, and interviews where Jay R’s raw personality and talent are on full display. “[Sa] kulutan, R&B, [and sa] swabehan, talagang siya ‘yung master,” he emphasized.

Like Alexa, Jarlo doesn’t see the others as competitors, instead highlighting each one’s strengths and their ability to think outside the box. “For me, ang pinaka-kalaban ko dito is myself,” he expressed.

Before concluding the interview, he momentarily imitated Mr Pure Energy Gary Valenciano, one of the judges of “YFSF.”

BGYO’s Akira Morishita embodies Harry Styles

Just out of rehearsal, Akira transitions from his BTS Jungkook performance to that of One Direction member-turned-soloist Harry Styles. From one popular boy group member to another, and being a boy group member himself, he gets candid about feeling a bit of pressure. “Natakot ako sa buhay ko na naman… Big name, magaling na singer and artist,” he shared.

Both his theater and idol life experiences are helping him become an expert impersonator, especially when it comes to acting, dancing, and singing.

Regarding the support of the BGYO members, he humorously responded, “hindi ko alam kung legit ba ‘yung tuwa nila.” He does reassure viewers that their way of expressing support when one member receives a solo project is to let out their laughter.

Closing the interview, Akira playfully impersonates Coco Martin and Kim Chiu.

Catch their jaw-dropping transformations in “Your Face Sounds Familiar” every weekend night, 7:15PM on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live (KOL), and A2Z. Viewers can also catch it on TV5 every Saturday, at 8:15PM, and Sunday, at 8:30PM.
