At just two and a half, Reich Alim’s talent was already evident. During a simple family dinner that turned life-changing for the young actress, a talent scout approached her parents and asked for their contact details, opening a small door that would soon widen with opportunities
Though she didn’t dive into acting right away, Reich first entered the world of modelling, notably posing for a magazine’s children’s clothing features. After getting familiar with the exposure, Reich soon made casting calls and auditions a regular part of her schedule, often accompanied by her father.
In one memory recalled by her late father, Reich’s star-quality aura would intimidate other hopefuls. Just by walking into the room, she was considered a top pick by the talent recruiters.
Early milestones in Reich’s career
In 2019, with the help of Liza Soberano’s make-up artist, whom Reich had worked with on a commercial, she officially became part of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic.
From then on, she began starring in Kapamilya films and series, including the DonBelle-led teen romance film “Love Is Color Blind,” in which she played the character Jam Arevalo.
Personally cited as her current greatest achievement in the entertainment industry, Reich also appeared in the second season of the DonBelle-starred romance and coming-of-age series “He’s Into Her,” playing Zell Echavez.
Now adding a touch of suspense and horror to her acting repertoire, her performance as the young Leah in “Ang Pagsanib Kay Leah Dela Cruz” gave her a significant boost in stardom, garnering even more attention on social media.
As she proves her way inside Big Brother’s house as the “Dependable Darling of Makati, viewers are continuously anticipating her scenes as the young Mel Barrera-Montenegro in “What Lies Beneath.”
The darling’s lovely family
An only child and a miracle baby, as her mother had her at the age of 40, Reich grew up while her father worked hard to support the family as an OFW in the UAE.
Eventually, her father returned to the Philippines, and they built a small sari-sari store to make a living, complemented by Reich’s early contributions through commercials, magazine shoots, and even runway shows.
During her fifth day inside Bahay ni Kuya, Reich opened up about her ‘multo,’ her father, whose sudden passing still pains her to this day.Throughout her blossoming career, it was her father who often accompanied her to every casting.
Reich, the independent achiever
One could notice the smooth English accent Reich has in her way of speaking. This is a testament to her preschool days at Integrated Montessori, where the medium of instruction was English, which became her first language.
Progressing into her early junior high school years, Reich turned to homeschooling at Homeschool Global Philippines, which offered a more flexible schedule for her growing career in the entertainment industry.
Before pursuing a career in acting, she once dreamed of becoming a doctor, then shifted her focus toward a tourism course if she decides to continue her studies in college.
One thing is certain: Reich has consistently excelled as a student throughout her career in both entertainment and education.
Reich enjoys simple, fun moments that many can relate to
Reich describes her personality as dependent on her mood, but mainly kikay, boyish, and a homebody most of the time—something introverts can relate to.
She is also viewed in her friendships as the “mom of the group,” bringing her matured mindset from a young age, usually by being the provider.
Expressing her potential as a multi-talented artist, Reich’s hobbies include playing the guitar and singing, often Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey songs, though she feels she’s not quite good enough yet, and staying active through swimming.
Don’t miss Reich’s presence in an episode of “PBB Collab 2.0,” which you can watch online via livestreams on the PBB YouTube Channel, Kapamilya Online Live (KOL), and iWant.
