As soon as Tanggol (Coco Martin) left, Mauro (Richard Quan) told Ponggay (Maris Racal) that what she just did to him was wrong. Dimples (Ciza Taa) chimed in to express her disappointment as well to Ponggay, who argued that how she reacted was actually the right way of treating criminals like him and his group.
Mauro went on to point out that he hasn’t encountered a lawbreaker yet who knows how to apologize, which Lola Florie (Perla Bautista) seconded by saying that Tanggol is actually way better than Hector (Aljur Abrenica), whom she brought to their house several days ago. Thus, Lola Florie and Dimples urged her to chase Tanggol and apologize to him.
Once again, Mauro reminded Ponggay that Tanggol is not the real enemy because, just like him, he was also a victim of the Guerrero family’s horrible power play when he was still a police officer. He confessed to Ponggay and Lola Florie that the true reason why he was discharged from service was because he used to work as a “bagman”, or an agent hired to collect or distribute the proceeds of illegal activities, for Roberto, who was still the mayor of Manila at the time.
Mauro was caught, unfortunately, with Roberto forcing him to own up to all the crimes for him not to be implicated. The ex-mayor promised to immediately bail him out and to pay him as well, but that never happened, as he ended up being imprisoned for two years with no job to return to.
Hearing this further convinced Ponggay that Tanggol’s claims against the Guerreros were true, with Mauro asserting that Tanggol could have been the winner if the results of the last elections for the mayoralty seat were not rigged. Ponggay agreed as she conveyed that she has also noticed a few anomalies at their precinct, so she heeded their request for her to follow him to say sorry.
Meanwhile, Tanggol unexpectedly crossed paths with Mauro’s enemy, Taruc, who threatened to kill him as he and his henchmen aimed to exact vengeance on him for helping Mauro out during their altercation at Linda’s (Aleck Bovick) beerhouse.
