Upon learning that Dimples (Criza Taa) has already woken up from a coma, Mauro (Richard Quan), Ponggay (Maris Racal), and Chona (Via Antonio) immediately rushed to the hospital to check on her. Aside from being able to confirm that Dimples was already doing better, the three of them were also delighted to hear straight from her that she could go home that same day.
Ponggay went on to apologize to Dimples for their failure to protect her, which should be her responsibility not just as her older stepsister but as a police officer. However, she promised to scrupulously investigate what happened to her, with Chona disclosing that they already have a lead regarding the possible suspect.
Since she was really eager to resolve her case, Ponggay compelled Dimples to recount whatever she could remember from that fateful evening before she was found unconscious and black and blue inside a body bag thrown by the river shore. But instead of answering her inquiries, Dimples got mad at her for bombarding her with questions when she had just woken up.
Linda (Aleck Bovick), of course, came into her daughter’s defense and scolded Ponggay for immediately pressuring and stressing Dimples out. Mauro argued that his child only wanted to help, which Linda claimed she totally understood, but she believed that it was not the right time yet and requested Ponggay and Chona to let Dimples recuperate first before proceeding with the investigations.
The furious mother went on to hurl insults and accusations at Ponggay, then asked them to leave as Dimples already needed to take a rest. Ponggay walked out crying, with Chona consoling her by telling her not to take everything that her Aunt Linda had just told her. She also reminded her that the sacrifices she’d already made for this case would definitely not go in vain because she firmly believes that they’re going to attain justice for Dimples and the other victims of “Mystery Man”.
