If you grew up watching Kapamilya teleseryes, you definitely remember that face—Marco Masa, the adorable kid who captured hearts as “Nathaniel”, the little angel who made us all cry buckets and believe in kindness again through the hit ABS-CBN drama back in 2015.

Now 18, Marco's angel-core energy clearly stayed. Just like his iconic character, he’s still that soft-hearted, thoughtful guy IRL, and that's exactly why he’s called “Ang Wonder Brother ng Antipolo” in "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0," where he's one of the housemates from the Kapuso (Sparkle) lineup.

Let’s get to know Marco better through some wonder-filled facts and stories about him.

Wonder Brother

His moniker is a fun play on “wonder boy,” a nod to his background as a child actor. The rest comes from who he is beyond the spotlight—a devoted younger brother to his 32-year-old kuya, Justin, who has Down syndrome.

Justin is non-verbal but that doesn’t stop them from having their own special connection. Marco just gets him. They talk through gestures, eye contact, and small cues. As Marco shares, their parents weren’t able to have Justin undergo a tongue-related medical procedure that would’ve helped with his speech when he was younger. But instead of it being a setback, it actually brought their family closer as they became even more united in taking care of Justin.

The Masa household runs on teamwork. Marco’s dad, Antonio, manages a buy-and-sell business and used to rent out residential properties, while his mom, Soledad, once ran their computer shop (where he was actually discovered by a talent scout—more on that later!) before becoming a full-time homemaker. Marco shares a close relationship with his parents. He never had a rebellious phase, mostly because they’ve never invalidated his feelings. If there’s ever a misunderstanding, they just talk it out. No drama at home. Just calm explanation and lots of love.

That’s also why Marco grew up so grounded. His family is not into material things, and his dream’s pretty wholesome—to take them on a trip and one day buy them a bigger, better house. Even if they already have one in a subdivision, he still wants to make life comfier for his parents. Now that he’s earning from showbiz, Marco is glad he can help out financially, though his parents still manage his money.

Wonder Actor

Maybe it’s that same sense of grounding that has made Marco shine even brighter in showbiz. This guy's been booked and busy since he was four, when he started as a commercial model after getting scouted right at their family’s computer shop. While goofing around and dancing on top of a chair (typical happy kid moment!), a customer who happened to be from a talent agency saw him and asked his parents if he could audition for commercials.

After landing several ads, he tried his luck at ABS-CBN auditions and got his first acting project via primetime series "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala" where he got to work with Judy Ann Santos, Sam Milby and KC Concepcion. But his biggest spotlight came when he scored the titular role in the primetime hit "Nathaniel," the show that turned him into one of the most beloved child stars of his generation.

Now, he's all grown up and ready for more. He’s currently part of a Kapuso afternoon drama series and a youth-oriented show, and he recently starred in the Netflix film "Outside." From tiny angel to certified leading man in the making, Marco’s story just keeps getting better.

Wonder Student and Wonder Friend

Outside of acting, Marco continues to excel in school as a consistent honor student. He’s currently in Grade 12 at Our Lady of Fatima University in Antipolo City.

Making friends is also one of his strong suits. The outgoing and sporty young artist is super close with his co-stars Zephanie, Chanty, Olive May, John Clifford, and Sean Lucas.

Catch Marco in “PBB Collab 2.0,” starting tonight, October 25, on Kapamilya Online Live (KOL), Pinoy Big Brother YouTube channel, and iWant!
