Despite being chased off by Rockyboy (Baron Geisler) at their first meeting after years of not seeing each other, Divina (Rosanna Roces) is still eager to win him over by making up for him.
She offered to wipe his sweat during his taekwondo training and served him food during their breakfast with Brando (Roi Vinzon) and Emil (Jay Gonzaga)—just like what every caring mom does—but Rockyboy reminded him that just because they allowed her to sleep at their house doesn’t mean that they are already okay.
Divina apparently understands how he’s been feeling towards her, so she told him that she wouldn’t rush him into accepting her back into his life, as well as vowed to work hard for his forgiveness.
However, she didn’t expect to make him feel upset when she asked Brando if she could visit her business ventures that she had abandoned because of supporting Tanggol (Coco Martin) in his endeavors. He scornfully asked her how long she would be gone and bitterly expressed his resentment against her after she had chosen to abandon him and his dad when he was still young.
This prompted Rockyboy to stand up and walk out of the dining area after he had already lost his appetite, which disheartened Divina. However, Brando assured her that all would eventually be well between them, telling her that their son actually used to ask about her a lot after she deserted them when he was still young.
Besides, Brando also promised Divina that he would protect her from Tanggol and would never let him ruin her life—much to her delight.
