Anne Curtis’ response to a netizen who criticized her upcoming film recently went viral on social media, quickly turning into a meme.

In a now-deleted post on X, a user expressed annoyance over the English dialogues in the movie, to which Anne candidly responded, “Di ’wag ka manood.”

During the media conference for The Loved One, Anne clarified the context of her remark and explained what she truly meant by it.

“Medyo Taglish dito. Medyo may English-English. Kaya kung ayaw ninyo, e ‘di wag kayo manood,” the premiere actress joked.

Anne went on to explain that the comment was simply her being her candid self.

“Honestly, that wasn't meant to blow up how it did. Parang, kunwari, si Vice (Ganda). Kunwari si Vice yung kausap ko at sinabi niya, ‘Ano ba yung movie niyo? Puro English.’ Ganun ko rin naman siya sasagutin. It wasn't meant to be like a pataray. Parang ganun lang yun,” she shared.

She also acknowledged that, like anyone else, she has her off days too.

“Alam mo, minsan nasa ganun akong lugar na ngayon, baka hindi maganda gising ko. But that's okay. Sometimes we have our days and that day was my day. So, tao lang naman tayo,” she admitted.

Meanwhile, Anne also shared what made her say yes to a love story film comeback after years.

“We get each other's craziness. And it was like one random night, I messaged her (Director Irene Villamor) and I told her like, ‘You know, I'm looking for something a little bit more mature when it comes to telling a story about where love can lead you’,” she recalled.

She went on to share how she later found out that the project would be a reunion with Green Rose co-star Jericho Rosales.

“Yun na nga, and then that's when she said you know what, I have a script [that she was] ready to show me. May catch lang siya. Sabi ko ‘Ano yung catch?’ Sabi niya ‘May leading man na.’ Sabi ko ‘Sino yung leading man?’ Sabi niya si Jericho and you know, working with Jericho has always been so easy and you know, so we connected. We reconnected again. And then a year after, we started filming,” Anne said.

Anne added that the film felt like it came at just the right moment.

“Nakakatuwa lang. It happened all in the right time. And now it's going to be shared with everyone at the perfect time,” she expressed.

Catch The Loved One in Philippine cinemas starting February 11. The film stars Anne Curtis and Jericho Rosales, alongside Adrian Alandy, Max Eigenmann, and Ian Pangilinan, with first-time actress Catriona Gray also joining the cast. It is directed by Irene Villamor.
