MANILA — Screen veteran Juan Rodrigo has bid farewell to ABS-CBN’s hit series “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” as his character Alfredo was killed off in Monday's episode.
Rodrigo's character was killed by Miguelito after he tried to save his love interest Tindeng (Charo Santos) from Gustavo (Dante Rivero).
In a social media post, Dreamscape Entertainment and CCM Film Productions thanked Rodrigo for his portrayal as Alfredo.
In a previous reel, Rodrigo thanked the show's lead star, director and producer Coco Martin for giving him the chance to be part of "Batang Quiapo."
"Coco, maraming-maraming salamat at napili mo akong lumabas na Alfredo dito sa 'Batang Quiapo,'" says Rodrigo, who stressed that he enjoyed working with the "Batang Quiapo" team.
Rodrigo also shared the most memorable scene he did for the action series.
"Ang hindi ko makakalimutang eksena yung nagkatagpo kami ni Tindeng at matagal ko na siyang hinahanap, 'yun pala nakatira siya sa bahay ko, doon ko na realize na siya pala 'yung si Tindeng," he said.
The veteran actor also shared the lessons that people can learn from the hit series.
"Well it's relevant sa mga nangyayari ngayon, siguro dapat ay hindi tayo maging greedy o makasarili. Isipin natin ang taong-bayan. Alisin natin ang pagiging corrupt sa gobyerno," he said.
Prior to the death scene of Alfredo, the characters of Pen Medina and Susan Africa also bade farewell to the series after they were also killed by Guerreros' men.
"Batang Quiapo" airs weeknights at 8 p.m. on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, Cinemo, A2Z, and TV5. It's also available on iWantTFC and TFC.
