Iza Calzado returned to her high school alma mater, Miriam College, this time as the commencement speaker for the Class of 2026.

On Instagram, the actress reflected on returning to the school and revisiting the memories she made there.

"Back-to-school season always takes me back to where it all began. 💙 Walking through the halls of Miriam College High School again reminded me of so many special memories," she said.

Iza shared that being invited to speak at the graduation ceremony was an opportunity she never imagined receiving when she was still a student.

"This school became such a big part of who I am, and I’ll always be grateful for that. To be invited back, this time to speak to the graduating Class of 2026, was such an honor. Definitely something I never even dreamed of or thought was in the cards from me when I was a student in MC. This is definitely a miracle and gift from God! 💙" she stated.

In her commencement speech, Iza drew inspiration from her personal journey as a student at Miriam.

"When I was asked to give the commencement speech, it was clear to me that I could only speak from my personal journey as a 'Row 4' student. It was in MC that I first learned we all have the power to be 'Row 1.' We simply have to decide that for ourselves, do the work, and trust in the grace that allows us to succeed," she said.

The actress emphasized the importance of showing up, seeking guidance, and extending the same support to others.

"It’s about showing up, asking for help, choosing yourself, being lucky and aware to find teachers like Mrs. Ednaco or mentors who can help guide you and making sure that when it’s your turn, you find ways to give back that grace. I hope that wherever you are in your own journey, something in this speech speaks to you too," she remarked.
