MANILA — Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino’s series “The Alibi” will make its free TV premiere in March.

This marks KimPau’s fourth project.

“The Alibi” first made its worldwide debut on Prime Video and for its free TV release, the creatives and production assured viewers that there will be fresh scenes and more substantial airtime to give way to some of the series’ subplots.

“Napakarami naming shinoot, so eto na mapapanood nyo yung mga eksenang hindi ipinakita sa Prime na cut, sa free TV nyo lang mapapanood,” said Paulo.

Compared to their past roles in ‘Linlang’, ‘What’s wrong with Secretary Kim?’ and their blockbuster movie ‘My love will make you disappear’, ‘Alibi’ offered a much matured role for Kim playing the club star dancer Stella, while Paulo gets into the journalist role as Vincent.

“During the time we were shooting The Alibi, a lot of things are happening as well in the Philippines, na we were hungry for the truth, we were out for blood, we were out for answers, that’s one of my inspirations,” said Paulo.

Meanwhile, some cast member shared their humbling experiences and support they received from Kim and Pau. Like Sofia Andres who shot an intense scene with Kim at the Temple of Leah in Cebu.

They shot the scene for three hours and Sofia expressed her appreciation for Kim’s patience and support.

“Never pa kong naka-experience ever ng ganun ka down to earth, she was there supporting me. Nahihiya ako sa kanya, kasi nawala yung experience ko it humbles you talaga. Nahiya ako sa kanya, parang deserve ko ba tong role na ito. She was there,” said Sofia.

Newbie actor Robbie Jaworski also lauded Paulo who guided him in his first few scenes, as nerves were everywhere.

“Kuya Pau got to give me a lot of wisdom and good tips. I was grateful na kasama ko si Kuya Pau sa unang eksena ko talaga dahil he got to support me, I was really nervous buti na lang ginuide ako ni Kuya Pau,” said Robbie.

Paulo reacted and said, “I’ve been in their shoes, when I was starting also in my career. Yung isang winiwish ko lagi is mag-guide or magkapatience sa akin yung mga ka-eksena ko. In fairness sa mga veteran actors na nakatrabaho ko meron, pero yung iba wala. Sinabi ko sa sarili ko, pag may ka-eksena akong actors especially the new ones I’ll always have the patience and give them time para hind sila kabahan.”

The appreciation turned into kilig when we asked Kim to reveal who gave here the flowers last Valentine’s Day.

Kim admitted and pointed at Paulo. Paulo also confirmed that he gave those bouquet of peonies to Kim. Kim explained why she captioned the photo: “Babae pala ako!”

“Kasi ang daming babaeng naglalakad nung araw na yun, siyempre nadadaanan ko lang from Showtime ang daming naglalakad may hawak na flowers tong mga to super sa pagka-longhair, pag uwi ko ng bahay hala may flowers din pala ako, girl din pala ako,” said Kim.

Listening to Kim while she was expressing her fondness over those flowers, Paulo said: “Masaya ako na masaya ka!”

Aside from “The Alibi” on free TV, Kim and Paulo will kick off their “KimPau World Tour” on April 24 at Redwood City, California, April 26 in Anaheim, May 1 in Edmonton and May 3 in Toronto.
