Marjorie Barretto and her children remembered Barretto matriarch, Estrella “Inday” Barretto, through loving tributes shared on social media.
Inday passed away earlier this week at the age of 89. Her death was first confirmed by her son Joaquin on January 29, with the details of her passing not disclosed by her family.

On January 30, Marjorie paid homage to her late mother, reposting videos on her Instagram Stories that were originally shared by her nephew, Pocholo Barretto. The clips showed Inday spending tender moments with her grandchildren, offering glimpses of warmth and closeness within the family.
One video also featured the late Barretto patriarch, Miguel, joyfully dancing with his grandchildren, capturing a lighthearted family memory.
Marjorie’s children also shared personal tributes of their own. Dani looked back on moments from their family gatherings, including her wedding, reflecting on her bond with her grandmother. She also posted photos of her late grandparents, noting that Inday and Miguel are now reunited following Miguel’s death in 2019.
Alongside a photo of the couple together, Dani wrote, “Together again.”
“I love you both,” Dani addressed her grandparents in another photo. “Rest in Peace, Mama Day,” she said.
Claudia, meanwhile, shared photos of herself embracing Inday, offering a quiet but intimate glimpse of their relationship.
Leon posted a photo of his grandmother’s employee identification card dated 1966, highlighting her younger years.
In another image, he could be seen sharing a drink with Inday, with his arms wrapped around her in a moment of closeness.
Julia Barretto has yet to post a personal message following her grandmother’s passing. However, she appeared in the tributes shared by her siblings and mother that reflected their closeness and affection.
Other members of the Barretto family also paid tribute online. Claudine and her brother Joaquin shared memories of their mother, while Lucas, one of Inday’s grandchildren, posted on Instagram with a message in remembrance.
“More than words can express. I will miss you Mama. I love you ❤️,” he wrote.
The tributes came months after Inday and Marjorie’s relationship became a public discussion following an interview with Ogie Diaz in October. In the tell-all interview, Inday shared that she and Marjorie did not “get along fine,” while still assuring her love for her daughter. Marjorie later expressed that the remarks had been painful for her and that she felt misunderstood, yet she reaffirmed her love for her mother.
In a subsequent statement after Inday’s passing, Claudine shared that despite past family conflicts, the siblings came together in grief.
"To my Brother & all my sisters thank you 🙏 Magulo man po kami but in grief we are all united. We all did our part. JJ, Michie, Gia, G, Marjorie & all the apos pati apo sa tuhod. Pantay pantay inalagaan ang mommy. We choose peace over everything."
She also thanked those who offered prayers and support, asking instead for prayers over flowers.
"We don't need flowers. Your Prayers all mean the world to each & every one of us. Maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat," she said.
Claudine ended her post with a farewell message for their mother, saying that the Barretto clan will get through this difficult time in their lives.
"Goodbye Mom. We will be ok. How can we not? WE ARE INDAY BARRETTO's children. The strongest most loving Mother anyone could ask for 🙏❤️," she wrote.
