Actress and content creator Rica Peralejo revealed that she just found time for herself again after 11 years since she became a mother. In her Instagram post, the celebrity mom shared how she’s getting to know more about motherhood as time passes.

Rica has two kids, Philip and Manu, with her husband, Joseph Bonifacio, whom she married back in 2010.

She explained that in the 11 years that she was trying to find time for herself again, she had a longer time to adjust as it wasn’t supported as it is today.
“It [really] took me that long because back in my time as a new mom, some things weren’t as supported so it took us longer to recover and adjust. These days it is different. There are so many communities for struggling moms that can make your personal journey more vibrant and balanced sooner than later,” she wrote.
The content creator added that being a mother doesn’t come easy as things wouldn’t be the same once you give birth–– something that she learned as well.
“Actually, you are never the same again after your first child. And we can mourn that — the loss of independence, freedom, self, in the process,” she added.
Despite this, she assured that she finds motherhood worth it as it gives her the joy and the experience that she had to overcome. She maintained that she likes this version of herself more than who she was 11 years ago.
“Nevertheless, in my case, I find that it is all worth it. One because of the wonderful human beings I am privileged to love in this lifetime and two, because of the wonderful human being I have become because of all that motherhood asked from me,” she explained.

Rica then shared that there is always going to be something to look forward to in life despite entering motherhood. For her, it came just after a little over a decade of becoming a mother.
“Regardless of the number, there is always something out there waiting for you. And you will discover it and fulfill it when the time comes! It’s just a matter of perspective and a whole lot of willingness to try new things,” she ended.
Meanwhile, Rica is set to make an acting comeback in the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival 2025 entry Manila’s Finest.
