Kapuso actor Ruru Madrid shared nothing but good words for his brother-in-law, basketball player Kai Sotto. In an interview with Boy Abunda on Fast Talk, he recalled how his sister, Rere Madrid, disclosed her pregnancy status to him and their family.
Kai married Rere earlier this year in a ceremony attended by family and friends.

The Kapuso star shared how Rere dropped the pregnancy news to his girlfriend, Bianca Umali, first as she was scared of how he would react to it.
“Kwinento na lang sa akin ni Rere na natakot daw kasi siya sa akin. Siyempre, parang bilang kuya. Dati kasi Tito Boy, sobrang strikto ko… Parang kinakabahan siya na pag sa akin niya sinabi, imbis na matuwa ako, magalit ako,” Ruru said.
He credited Bianca for helping him understand the situation and making it easier for everyone involved. Despite this, he admitted that he already had an inkling that his younger sister was pregnant.
“Pero si Bianca yung nag-guide sa akin from the very beginning. I mean, prior to this na inannounce ni Rere na buntis siya or ikakasal na siya, si Bianca yung nagsasabi sa akin na 'wag maging mahigpit sa mga kapatid mo,” he shared.
“Kasi pag mahigpit ka sa kanila, hindi sila mag-o-open up sa’yo. From there, nag bago yung perspective ko kung sa pa paano ko tinitignan yung ganun–– kung paano protektahan yung kapatid,” he added.
After talking it out, Ruru asked Kai to be there in person when sharing the pregnancy announcement to their parents. The basketball player was playing in Japan at that time but followed the Kapuso actor’s direction.

“Mula doon, sobrang nirespeto ko si Kai dahil talagang ginawa niya. Kahit sobrang busy siya sa Japan—may mga games siya. To be honest, parang ang nangyari [ay] umuwi lang siya para sabihin then the next day, bumalik na siya ng Japan,” he expressed.
When asked more about Kai, Ruru maintained that his brother-in-law is “cool” and they have been bonding more alongside their respective partners.
“Mabuting tao si Kai. Mula doon pa lang sa ginawa niyang gesture na yun, nakita ko ano yung pagkatao niya. Ito, recently nagkakaroon kami ng mga bonding. Minsan, nagdodouble date kami with Bianca,” he ended.
Rere and Kai previously announced the former’s pregnancy to the public last June. Fans of the couple sent their congratulatory messages in their joint post.
