After playing the role of former Navy SEAL JB Bonifacio in the recently concluded top rated action series Incognito earlier this year, Richard Gutierrez said he is ready to work on his next challenging acting project which also reunites him with his Incognito director Lester Pimentel.
“I got a little bit of rest. I was able to rest and recover and decompress from Incognito and now I’m ready,” he told PUSH ABS-CBN in an exclusive interview during the cast reveal of Regal Entertainment’s Shake, Rattle, & Roll: Evil Origins held earlier this month at the Valencia Events Place.

During his interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, Richard shared a glimpse of his home life with his two sons Zion and Kai. The two are his children with wife actress Sarah Lahbati. In an interview with Ogie Diaz last January, Richard revealed that they are currently in the process of having their marriage annulled.
“I’m a totally different guy at home I think. My kids will attest to that. They can’t even believe I’m doing all this action hero stuff because for them I’m just a dad at home. Yeah, they both watch Incognito. They also visited me a few times sa set ng Incognito. So hopefully they can visit me rin here sa set ng Shake, Rattle, & Roll,” Richard said.
When asked about how close his relationship is with his two sons, Richard admitted that his parenting style is not the strict kind. “Parang very lenient nga ako eh. Parang binabarkada ko yung anak ko eh, which is fun. Parang barkada yung tingin ko sa kanila,” he added.
The 41-year-old action star said he is just like any regular soccer dad once he gets home and tries to spend as much quality time with his sons whenever possible.
“Yeah, I’m heavily involved with their sports, with their hobbies. Zion was involved in football. Now he’s into basketball. So I bring him to training pag may oras ako. Sinasamahan ko siya. Even si Kai, he’s also into basketball now,” Richard shared.
