Over the past six months, Incognito has indeed turned our viewing experience extra exhilarating and action-packed through the high-octane action that it relentlessly brought us in almost every episode. While not everyone may be a fan of the action genre, it’s arguably impossible to not be drawn into this series as we thoroughly follow our seven valiant heroes in their intense battles against their enemies in every mission.
And as the Kontraks, comprised of Andres Malvar (Daniel Padilla), JB Bonifacio (Richard Gutierrez), Miguel Tecson (Baron Geisler), Gab Rivera (Maris Racal), Max Alvero (Kaila Estrada), and Tomas Guerrero (Anthony Jennings), together with their Kontraktor Greg Paterno (Ian Veneracion), have taken on their last battle in “The Final Mission” finale of “Incognito,” let us look back on five of the most remarkable and toughest assignments they’ve ever engaged in in this edition of Friday 5.
Abducting Donato Escalera
The action-drama series began with Kontraktor gathering a team of highly skilled individuals with military service experience for an important and dangerous job: to rescue Takako Rai, the daughter of Yangdon Ambassador to the Philippines Jigme Rai (Raymond Bagatsing), who was kidnapped by the terrorist group led by Timor Escalera (Art Acuña). Thus, in order to compel Timor to release Takako, they abducted his one and only son, Donato (Elijah Canlas), and made him their pawn. However, a shocking twist instantly threw all their efforts to waste as Donato took his own life while Greg and General Novilla (Jestoni Alarcon) were negotiating with Timor, which prompted the terrorist leader to finally kill Takako.
Taking ahold of Timor Escalera
Despite failing in their initial assignment to catch Timor, Greg and his Kontraks still didn’t give up and accepted a new contract, which took them to Terravia, Cerdova, where Timor sought refuge with the help of his influential connections. Battling in an uncharted territory might be challenging for them, yet having the feisty femme fatale Gab Rivera as the newest addition to their group indeed made their force stronger. Ultimately, they were able to seize Timor, make it out of the deadly crossfire against his allies alive and complete, go on a daring escape from Cerdova, and bring him back to the Philippines.
Ending the hostage crisis instigated by Rema Muñoz
As well-known religious leader Rema Muñoz (Robert Seña) attempted to evade the multiple corruption, child abuse, sexual assault, and kidnapping charges filed against him, he and his loyal cohorts occupied La Vida Royale Hotel and caused serious trouble to its administrators, workers, and guests. This became the Kontraks’ new assignment, and they wasted no time to stop Rema and his henchmen from their wicked acts and save as many hostages as they could. The unexpected arrival of the Escalera gang and intervention of the authorities may have complicated their mission, yet the team was still able to accomplish their totally exigent mission.
Taking down Sameo Patel
With Andres making a comeback to the team after the fallout of their previous mission, Greg also received a new contract to take down Sameo Patel (Epy Quizon), a notorious drug trafficker with suspicious ties. They have faced a series of challenges during the conduct of their mission—from hiking and trekking through the challenging terrains of Mt. Talimba and facing a lot of enemies along the way, which included the locals that helped Sameo’s minions in protecting him. But in the end, Greg and his kontraks were still able to accomplish the mission and kill Sameo.
Catching and taking home Kenji
And lastly, while they were consistently complete in their previous assignments, the team had to take on their mission of finding and seizing assassin Kenji Lee (Lance Pimentel) in Kaigen without Miguel, as he had chosen to deal first with his beloved family’s problems. They may have had a hard time due to the unfamiliarity of the place and the freezing temperature since it was winter there when they arrived, yet they were still able to achieve their purpose there. Aside from catching him, they also succeeded in compelling Kenji to name the true mastermind behind the killing of a politician and in taking him back to the Philippines.
