Maja Salvador and her husband Rambo Nuñez visited Rome with their daughter, Maria, coinciding with the Jubilee Year.
On Instagram, Rambo shared snapshots from their trip, which included a visit to St. Peter's Basilica and a sighting of Pope Leo.
"Jubilee year in Rome with the family and entering the Holy Doors which only opens every 25 years 🙏🏼," he posted.
"Father’s Day blessing of Maria in St. Peter’s Basilica, 1st ever Papal Audience and see Pope Leo, Visited Padre Pio’s tomb, and went to St. Francis of Assisi."
According to www.italia.it, the Jubilee is "a year of remission of sins, reconciliation, conversion and sacramental penance. It is also called a Holy Year and is the period during which the Pope grants plenary indulgence to the faithful who travel to Rome and perform particular religious practices."
Maja and Rambo recently celebrated the first birthday of Maria.
The event took place at the Blue Leaf Events Pavilion in Taguig City, attended by family, celebrity friends, and godparents.
Notable guests included Joshua Garcia, Anne Curtis, Piolo Pascual, Carlo Aquino, and Darren Espanto, among others.
Maja gave birth to Maria on May 31, 2024.
In an Instagram post last year, Maja opened up about her experience giving birth to her first offspring. The actress shared that her labor was long and challenging.
"Exactly a week ago… I experienced an intense 30-hour labor, 12 hours without epidural, 3 hours of pushing. Then ended up having episiotomy and forceps. 2 contractions and 7 pushes later, we finally welcomed our baby Maria," she said.
After delivering her baby, Maja relayed that she had uterine inversion.
Maja recalled: "Immediately had 10 minutes of skin-to-skin contact with her, but biglang nagka emergency... I had uterine inversion. Kaya kinailangan nilang kunin sa'kin si Maria at binigay nila kay Rambo (Nuñez, her husband) who was seated helplessly next to my bed."
She went on: "3 OB GYN were there trying to put back my uterus manually which led to blood loss of 3 to 4 liters, then my blood pressure went down to 60/40, sinabihan na lang ako ng Doula ko na anytime I would have to go to the operating room for surgery."
Maja recounted that she was already physically weak at the time and that she prayed the rosary amid the ordeal.
"That time sabi ko nalang sa sarili ko na I can’t do anything anymore... ubos na ubos na lakas ko... I started praying Hail Mary... paulit ulit kahit wala na akong lakas. And miraculously, after their last attempt, one of the OB GYN succeeded in repositioning my uterus. AMEN!"
Maja extended her gratitude to the health care workers who took care of her while giving birth. "Despite the challenging journey, gusto kong i-express ang gratitude ko to all the medical personnel na nandun nun, especially to the Filipino nurses who provided unwavering care and support," she said.
The actress also expressed her gratitude to Rambo and their families for their support during her delivery.
