Rovelyn Baterbonia, the mother of the late Rene Baterbonia, shared a warning to anyone capitalizing on her son’s death. On her official Facebook account, the grieving mother maintained that their family is continuing to seek justice and hopes no one would take advantage of them or they would file legal cases.
Rene passed away on June 8 alongside his other teammate, Divine Adili, in a drowning accident that happened during their team-building activity in Dipaculao, Aurora. Since his passing, thousands of his fans have come and helped his grieving family through various donations.

She asserted that they aren’t using her son’s death to gain profit by selling jerseys, as she revealed they have already started selling merchandise related to Rene even when he was still alive.
“Gusto ko lang po ipaalam sa lahat po ng nagsasabing pinagkakaperahan ko Ang anak ko Buhay pa po man Siya nagbebenta napo kami ng jersy at kabilinbilinan nya dati pa para may pandagdag sa gastosin ng aming pamillya,” she asserted.
Rovelyn added that they aren’t asking for money as well, and it’s the people’s choice to donate money to them.
“May Pera man po kami di po Ako nanghingi at kusa naman po nagbigay Ang mga tumulong sa amin,” she clarified.
In the same post, the grieving mother asked their fans to send the transaction number for those who got scammed, as she will try to help them out and file a legal case against the perpetrators.
“Dun nman sa mga taong mapagsamantala na pinadalan nyo Wala po akong alam dyan paki send nyo sa akin Ang mga transaction # at ipapa trace ko po kamag anak ko man o mga vlogger s na naghihingi sa inyo Ako po mismo Ang magsasampa ng reklamo pakiusap at pasuyo paki send sa akin Ang Convo ninyo,” she maintained.
While she is grateful for the donations and support they’ve received over the past few months, Rovelyn and her family are still seeking justice for Rene’s death.
“Hustisya po Ang hiling ko di po PERA!!salamat din sa mga taong patuloy na sumusupirta para sa amin..alam ko pong may diyos na gumagabay sa amin,” she ended.
