With It’s Showtime bringing back Tawag ng Tanghalan with its Grand Resbak season this year, Jed Madela said he is happy to see 48 talented contestants returning on stage to get a second chance at being a champion in the singing competition.
“The reason why nandito sila lahat ngayon is dahil meron silang something na mabibigay sa tao and that’s their talent. May mabibigay sila and sobrang kailangan talaga ipakita sa madla ng people and yung buong mundo. That’s what’s nice about Tawag ng Tanghalan, it’s nonstop giving of opportunities pare sa mga talented na tao dito,” he shared during the All Star Tawag ng Tanghalan Grand Resbak Media Con held inside the ABS-CBN compound.
Jed said that he can already see how much the returning contestants have grown and matured since their first stint on the show.
“Sobrang saya ko na nabigyan sila ng isa pang opportunity na maipakita kung gaano sila kagaling. Exciting ito kasi salang sala itong grupo na ito. Tingnan natin. It’s all about the right timing, it’s all about being at the right place at the right time and the right mindset. Nakikita ko kasi itong mga ito since the time na sumali sila until after sila sumali sa mga respective seasons nila, nakikita ko sila sa kani-kanilang avenues, online and sa mga live performances. At nakikita ko na nag-go-grow sila. Kaya tingnan natin kung anong growth ang ipapakita nila sa resbakan na ito,” he added.

This time around, Jed said he will be stricter because the Grand Resbak contestants are not going to be first timers anymore in singing competitions.
“Dapat talaga maging strict kasi magagaling silang lahat. But at the same time, of course consideration rin. We need to consider that this is still a competition, yung mga nerves andiyan talaga. But at the same time, I also want to see somebody who is going to stand out from all of these amazing artists. For me, they are all champions in their respective styles and genre. But we will see who will really stand out. kasi given na yung boses eh, nasala na sila. Given na yung boses. Sino ang makakapagbigay ng kilabot when it comes to overall dating sa tao. So nakaka-excite yun,” he shared.
