The cast of the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival’s lone Christmas-themed film Rekonek revealed who they want to reconnect with in real life after starring in a film that shows how groups of Pinoys suddenly find themselves having to cope when the world loses all internet ten days before Christmas.
Gerald Anderson
“Truthfully, I want to reconnect with myself. I would like to reconnect with myself bago ako pumasok sa industriya. Because I want to feel yung ganung feeling ulit. And that’s why I wanted to be part of this movie, kasi Christmas season is my favorite season. Marami akong memories nung bata ako.”
Andrea Brillantes
“Respectfully, I don’t have anyone that I still want to reconnect with kasi I’m still connected with everyone na I want to be with. So if I kind of like disconnected with a person, masaya na ako sa kasama ko sa Christmas. Ayoko na pahabain yung sagot ko pero yun lang. Lahat ng kasama ko ngayong Pasko ay lahat ng minamahal ko sa buhay ko.”
Charlie Dizon
“Family talaga kasi hindi kami magkakasama physically. Nasa US kasi silang lahat so miss na miss ko na talaga yung pamilya ko. Like yung gusto ko sila mahawakan talaga, mayakap talaga. Kasi lagi kaming magkakausap, thank you din talaga sa internet. Magkakausap kami lagi sa video call, ganyan. Pero iba pa rin yung makakuwentuhan mo sila ng harap-harapan. Yung masabi mo yung mga problema mo harap harapan. Iba yung comfort na nabibigay nila, lalo kung physically. Kapag natapos ko siguro yung work and magkaroon ng bakanteng time talaga na mahaba, sobrang gusto ko pumunta sa US.”
Carmina Villarroel
“I want to reconnect with two people, my mom and my dad. But they’re both not here so I don’t know how I’ll reconnect with them. Pero since yun yung question, yun sana. Sana nga merong kahit sandali lang, every Christmas, kahit one hour lang, just to be with them. Just to reconnect with them.”
Gloria Diaz
“Well I’m connected to everyone. Baka yung mga may utang sa akin (laughs). Yun na yun. Somehow a little, not so much. I’m connected to everyone. It’s so easy now. Kahit maisip mo bigla, tawag lang.”
