MANILA -- Actress Julia Barretto on Sunday expressed her gratitude to those who guided her in her search for peace, particularly her family.
"Tao din. That is years of patience, learning, and listening to advice of those who truly want the best for you. Especially my family, my mom, my siblings," Barretto said at the sidelines of the premiere of her first global series, "Secret Ingredient."
"Peace is available for everyone basta we make the necessary steps to reach the kind of peace we want," she added.
Barretto's statement comes after she opened up to actress-TV host Toni Gonzaga on her vlog regarding her moment of reconciliation with Bea Alonzo.
"The world is healing dahil may mga hugging photos… The question is, is the world really healing when that happened," Gonzaga asked Barretto in her vlog.

Though Gonzaga did not explicitly state what she was talking about, it can be recalled that Barretto and Alonzo -- who were involved in a controversy with Gerald Anderson in 2019 -- made headlines after they were spotted hugging and laughing together at the party of talent manager Johnny Manahan or Mr. M.
"For me, yes. I'm gonna personally speak for myself because I never wanna speak for anybody else… It's a moment that, of course, vina-value ko ‘yon. That's why as much as possible, siyempre ang daming nag-a-ask sa akin. I don't want to go into details so much, kasi ayoko naman that other people would say that it's some ingenuine moment," Barretto told Gonzaga.
"Para lang alam mong the people in the past, you were able to close that with them, hoping that it also gives them peace," she added.
Barretto's mother, Marjorie, said she is proud of Julia after having watched her interview on Gonzaga's vlog.
"I watched it. Last night. I was so proud of her. Ang galing ng words niya. I'm impressed with her wisdom niya. I'm so proud. She is still so hopeful about her life," said Marjorie.
"Kasi in the interview, she said something about regrets, it is too heavy to carry. I could not put into words, she will be fine. She is really strong," she added.
