Screenshot from video by MJ Felipe, ABS-CBN NewsMANILA — K-pop girl group UNIS said Thursday that they would donate a portion of their earnings from their fan concert tour in the Philippines to support the victims of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
"We will be donating a part of the income from our fan concert to those who were affected by the typhoon," leader Hyeonju, who is half-Korean and half-Filipino, said through an interpreter in a press conference.
"We hope that there will be not much damage to those who were affected by the typhoon," she added.
UNIS, whose eight members also include Filipinos Elisia Parmisano and Gehlee Dangca, are currently in the country for their "UNIS in CURIOUSland" fan concert tour.
The shows will take place at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City on October 25 and Waterfront Cebu City Hotel in Cebu on October 26.
During the press event, Elisia also extended words of comfort to the victims of the storm.
"We're praying and hoping that your loved ones are safe and sound and we hope that you find strength, resilience and hope," Elisia said.
"Know that help is underway and we hope that you guys just stay safe," she said.
The "UNIS in CURIOUSland" tour marks UNIS' return to the country after their fan-signing tour for their debut extended play (EP) "We UNIS" last May.
The multinational girl group, formed through the South Korean survival program "Universe Ticket," also includes Korean members Yunha, Yoona, and Seowon, along with Japanese members Nana and Kotoko. — With a report from MJ Felipe, ABS-CBN News
