CANDON -- Dawn Catindig said Wednesday that the team respects the management's "business decision" as Cignal took a leave of absence from the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).
In a surprising development just mere days after its silver-medal finish in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference, the team will be exiting the league, collecting five bronzes and three silver medals to conclude its franchise stint.
"We never expected that kind of news. Kahit na may rumors, very hopeful pa rin kami. But at the end of the day, it was a business decision and we respect that. Alam naman namin na pinaglaban kami ng Cignal and we have to go our own ways," said the veteran libero ahead of the PVL All-Star Game.
Jackie Acuna was likewise grateful for her Cignal stint.
"Sobrang grateful ako sa Cignal dahil nagbukas sila ng pinto kahit na hindi masyadong malaki ‘yung background ko ng college at ‘di ako masyadong nakapaglaro," said Acuna.
"Sila, sumugal sila kahit potential lang ‘yung dala ko. Magiging forever grateful ako sa Cignal."
Catindig, Acuna, as well as Vanie Gandler, Erika Santos, and Gel Cayuna are in Candon City, Ilocos Sur for the PVL All-Star Showcase, scheduled for Friday.
