MANILA — Cignal has seized an early advantage in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference Semifinals.
This, as the Super Spikers bucked an opening chapter loss en route to a 23-25, 25-14, 25-11, 25-12 victory over Farm Fresh in the single round-robin semifinals on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The Foxies found the set-clinching kill from Trisha Tubu in Set 1, right after the Super Spikers saved two set points in a close encounter that transpired that frame.
The succeeding sets were the exact opposite of that period, as Erika Santos and Vanie Gandler turned on the switch, leading Cignal to dominant wins in Sets 2-4 for a 1-0 card.

"We just played steadily. We didn’t panic after the first set. We know na coming into the semis, what’s important is our in-game adjustments and communication, so we focused more on those things rather than focusing on our errors, what we did wrong," said Gandler during the postgame press conference.
"For me lang, nag-reflect lang kasi yung first set parang winnable naman. So, instead mag-panic, sabi nga ni Vanie, nag-collect kami ng mga efforts—tiningnan namin kung saan kami nagkulang at mga lapses, so ginawan agad ng paraan," said Santos.
The Cignal duo combined for 39 points, leading the way, as Tin Tiamzon made her presence felt with 11 markers and 13 digs.

On the other hand, the Foxies could not maximize the momentum they had after snatching Set 1 with Tubu tallying 13 points, while Royse Tubino had 12 markers in the loss.
The Super Spikers will face Creamline next, while Farm Fresh aims for a bounce-back win against PLDT.
