MANILA – She may be a rookie in the UAAP, but La Salle setter Eshana Nunag has been showing maturity and composure beyond her years on the court.

She orchestrated the offense in the Lady Spikers' huge win over the UP Fighting Maroons, 25-18-25-18, 25-20, at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion on Sunday.

Nunag had 15 excellent sets against UP, earning her Player of the Game honors.

The victory not only booked the Lady Spikers a return ticket to the final four, it marked the Taft-based squad's 16th straight post-season appearance and 10th straight win this tournament.

Ahead of the final four, Nunag is focused on continuing to do her part for La Salle.

"Siguro po, masaya din po kahit papano po nakapag-contribute po ko sa mga panalo po ng team po. And for the next games po, isa-isa lang po, one game at a time nga. And paghahandaan po namin yung each game na paparating," she said during the post-game press conference.

Despite the praises, the rookie setter remains grounded and credited her performance to her coaches and teammates.

"Honestly po hindi naman ako ganun ka parang mature pa, kahit yun ang nakikita ng mga iba. Dahil lang din sa tulong ng coaches and ates kasi lagi akong ginaguide sa lahat sa pag-set," Nunag said.

"And yung mental parang preparedness ko sa loob ng court, dahil din sa kanila. Kasi nandoon yung assurance. And alam ko rin na may susuporta sa akin and may tutulong sa akin sa loob," she added.

Nunag and the Lady Spikers will get some rest before they return to action on April 8.

DLSU will face the FEU Lady Tamaraws at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
