National University star Camilla “Lams” Lamina against Ateneo de Manila University in UAAP Season 88. UAAP Media.MANILA — National University regained its form behind veteran setter Camilla “Lams” Lamina, who delivered a steady performance in their sweep of Ateneo de Manila University on Saturday.
Despite coming off the bench anew, the two-time Best Setter earned Player of the Game honors as the Lady Bulldogs returned to the win column in the second round of UAAP Season 88 women’s volleyball, tallying 12 excellent sets along with three points.
The bounce-back came after NU’s five-set loss to Far Eastern University last week, as their supporters loudly chanted “La-mi-na!” following their second defeat in their first three matches of Round 2.

For Lamina, the chants symbolized the unwavering support of the NU faithful, with the three-time champion hoping it continues as they enter the final stretch of their campaign.
“Nakakatuwa po. Marami pong sumusuporta sa aming NU women’s,” she said.
Lamina, who has seen limited playing time new since head coach Regine Diego took over, said she remains focused on fulfilling her role for the young Lady Bulldogs.
“As an ate, as a leader, gina-guide ko lang talaga sila especially sa mga dikdikan na laban. Binibigyan ko lang sila ng mga advice,” she added.
Meanwhile, Diego welcomed the depth in her roster, including Lamina and Abe Pono, as NU continues its bid for a third straight title.
“We’re lucky to have all of these players who are skillful, mabubuting mga bata. We are thankful for that, and hopefully, we get to be more consistent in our last few games,” said Diego.
Lamina and the Lady Bulldogs return to action on Easter Sunday, April 5, when they face Adamson University.
