MANILA – Several men's volleyball stars rallied in Laoag City for the upcoming FIVB Men's World Championship 2025 as the "Set Na Natin ‘To" trophy and mascot tour reached the Ilocos Norte city on Saturday.
Josh Umandal, JM Ronquillo, and Vince Malinao of the Cignal HD Spikers men's team led the way in promoting the historic 32-nation contest at SM Laoag in the tour which started at SM Seaside Cebu weeks ago.

A mini men's volleyball tournament was held to celebrate the tour stop, where the Block Builders emerged victorious over North Western University, Laoag Men's Team, Pasuquin as John Paul Lorenzo nabbed the MVP honor.
Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) and Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) chief Ramon “Tats” Suzara expressed gratitude to Ilocanos for the warm welcome.
“We are very thankful to the City of Laoag and the Province of Ilocos Norte for the warm welcome and enthusiastic support for the world championships,” said Suzara.

The FIVB worlds will kick off on September 12 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, with Team Philippines battling a Wassim Ben Tara-less Tunisia side on opening day.
Brazilian superstar Leila Barros, the darling of Philippine volleyball in the 2000s, will then grace the Finals from September 27 to 28 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
