MANILA – Tunisia will be without Wassim Ben Tara when it takes on Alas Pilipinas on the opening day of the FIVB Men’s World Championship 2025.
Tara, who was the team’s leading scorer in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, is not in the official roster for the FIVB Worlds "due to prior commitments," as announced by the squad.
It'll be Alas Pilipinas Men' golden opportunity to pounce on, especially in front of passionate Pinoy fans.

However, the Tunisian side, which has 11 continental titles to its name, remains a threat with Hamza Nagga and Elyes Karamosli pacing them on the global stage set for September 12 to 28 at Araneta Coliseum and Mall of Asia Arena.
Tunisia wasn't able to defend its title during the 2023 edition of the African Men’s Volleyball Championship, settling for a fifth-place result, but it was still a consistent force in international competitions as it remained at the Top 50 of the FIVB men’s volleyball rankings.
