RODRIGUEZ, Rizal – Chery Tiggo overcame a slow start en route to a 20-25, 25-23, 25-12, 28-26 win over Capital1 in the PVL on Tour on Saturday at the Ynares Center Montalban here.
The Crossovers, despite losing Set 1, took the next three frames for a triumphant start in the preseason tournament.
For their part, the Solar Spikers have already lost all their three matches.

Set 4 was pushed to the limit, with the Crossovers saving multiple set points, but found the much-needed points that came from the other side, particularly on Sydney Niegos and Shola Alvarez attacks that sailed out to wrap the match that lasted two hours and 14 minutes.
Cess Robles registered 17 points on 15 attacks and two blocks to go with nine digs, while Baby Jyne Soreno immediately proved her worth as a rookie by putting up 15 markers done mostly on spikes, and another PVL newbie in Renee Penafiel added 11 for the Chery Tiggo offense.

Setter Alina Bicar made the plays with 18 excellent sets, and Jho Verdeflor listed eight digs and eight receptions for the defense.
Meanwhile, three Solar Spikers delivered twin-digit scoring, led by Alvarez who had 13 points.
Chery Tiggo seeks a second straight win against Akari on Sunday, while Capital1 aims to crack the winning column against Zus Coffee at the same game date.
