MANILA, Philippines – After losing its PVL on Tour opening game, Petro Gazz bounced back at Galeries' expense, 25-23, 25-21, 26-24, on Sunday at the Batangas City Sports Center.
This was the Angels' first crack to the win column after a heartbreaker to rookie Lyann de Guzman and Nxled Chameleons, 25-23, 19-25, 19-25, 25-15, 15-10, a day ago in the same Batangas venue.
It was a comeback in the final chapter as the Angels overcame a 20-23 deficit en route to a 26-24 win, banking on a 6-1 run to close out the match after one hour and 52 minutes.
Galeries' Ivy Perez committed a service error, coupled by another miscue from their side to put Petro Gazz within one, 22-23.

Nicole Tiamzon's back-to-back points on a kill block and an off-the-block hit put her team at match point, 24-23.
Highrisers' Jewel Encarnacion marked the end to her team's drought with an into-the-block kill, tying at 24-apiece, but the hometown bet from Batangas committed a service error in the next play as Tiamzon again put her team on her back, drilling the game-clinching hit in the middle.
Former PVL MVP Myla Pablo headlined three Angels in twin-digit scoring, leading by example with 14 points which all came from attacks, while Joy Dacoron and Jonah Sabete delivered 10 markers each.

Djanel Cheng executed their offense well with 16 excellent sets, as Barbon held the fort on the defense with 10 receptions and eight digs.
The Angels are playing without Brooke Van Sickle and MJ Phillips, who are on national team duties with Alas Pilipinas at the VTV Cup 2025 in Vietnam.
Meanwhile, Ysabel Jimenez paced the other side with 13 points, Roselle Baliton finished with 10 points, and Encarnacion had a nine-point outing for her local fans.
