MANILA, Philippines – Bernadeth Pons, known for her heroics in beach volleyball, is relishing her first time representing the Philippines in indoor volleyball.
Pons previously gave honor to the Philippines by gifting the country two bronze medals in the Southeast Asian Games.
But this time, the Far Eastern University product and the rest of Creamline are donning the national tri-colors in the ongoing AVC Women's Champions League alongside PVL clubs Petro Gazz and PLDT.

Pons was just grateful for the opportunity to play for the Philippines, this time in indoor volleyball.
"Sobrang grateful ako kasi ito ‘yung first ko na mag-represent ng country sa indoor," she said on Monday.

This stint is more special as she plays with the Cool Smashers, her PVL team since 2023.
"And siyempre kasama ko pa ‘yung Creamline team, so sobrang ine-enjoy ko lang talaga ‘yung opportunity and ‘yung moment na maglaro ngayon," she expressed.

She expects to soak all lessons from this continental tournament as she makes a return to beach volleyball in the upcoming SEA Games in December.
"Siguro kasi, siyempre, international ito, international din ‘yung mga kalaban. Siguro kahit sino talaga ‘yung kaharap mo — malaki man sila, maliit man sila, same lang namin kami ng game — volleyball."
Creamline though suffered an unfortunate 16-25, 17-25, 17-25 loss at the hands of visiting Zhetysu VC on Monday.
