MANILA (UPDATED) -- Chery Tiggo is set to leave the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), marking an end to its 11-year existence as a club team.
The Crossovers made the development official on Tuesday.
"With heavy hearts, we announce the closing of the Chery Tiggo EV Crossovers' chapter, after 11 unforgettable years in professional volleyball," the team said in a statement.
Chery Tiggo is coming off a 10th place finish in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference, where they managed just two wins against six losses.
"To our leagues, sponsors, staff and most especially to our players, past and present, thank you for your dedication and heart," the team said.
It remains to be seen where Chery Tiggo's players -- a group that includes veterans Ara Galang, Aby Marano, Jen Nierva, Mylene Paat and Jasmine Nabor -- will land after their team's exit.
Marano paid tribute to the team in an emotional Instagram post, expressing her gratitude to the team owners and coaches for their belief and guidance.
"For two years, I lived and breathed this team. I walked into the court every day surrounded not just by teammates, but by a family I never knew I would find," said the Chery Tiggo captain.
"It breaks my heart to know that our journey together has come to an end," she added.
Marano acknowledged the uncertainty of her future but vowed that the Crossovers will be part of the next step of her journey, saying: "No matter where we all go next, a part of my heart will always remain on that court with all of you."
Chery Tiggo started out as Foton in the now-defunct Philippine Superliga in 2014, before joining the PVL in 2020.
In the league's 2021 Open Conference in the "bubble" in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, the Crossovers stunned powerhouse Creamline in a historic final to become the first champions of the PVL in its professional era.
"To our incredible fans: you have been the soul of this team," they added. "Your unwavering support made this journey extraordinary."
