This, as Petro Gazz garnered enough wins and points to seal at least a Top 8 finish in the two-round preliminaries after its 25-27, 25-13, 25-10, 25-13 victory over Capital1 on Saturday night at the Ynares Center here.

Petro Gazz (4-3, 11 points) essentially ended the quarterfinals bids of Chery Tiggo EV (2-5, 6 points) and Choco Mucho (2-5, 6 points) with the win.
Regardless of the results of the last two playdates, the Chery Tiggo EV and Choco Mucho will only have a maximum of nine points if they win.
Despite Capital1's loss, the Bella Belen-led squad (3-4, 10 points) secured enough points over the Crossovers and Flying Titans for them to advance—even before their match against the Angels.
Only eight of the 12 teams will make it to the quarterfinals.
The Angels, despite the Solar Spikers snatching the closely fought and extended Set 1, turned up the heat and overwhelmed the other side in the next three frames to seal the deal.
