MANILA — Chery Tiggo EV swept Galeries, 25-9, 25-16, 25-23, to tally its first win in Pool B of the 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference on Thursday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
The Crossovers ended their slump that lasted three games, while keeping the Highrisers winless after four matches.
While cruising past their rivals in the first two frames, the Norman Miguel-coached squad faced a fightback in the final period, as it went as close as 23-all, courtesy of Jean Asis' hit.
But Pauline Gaston found the into-the-block kill on France Ronquillo's defense to propel her team to match point, and Shaya Adorador was there for the game-clinching kill to mark their breakthrough.

"Thank you dahil first win, masaya, dahil hindi maganda ‘yung pinagdaanan namin nung last three games namin," said Miguel. "‘Yung kanina, masaya ako sa team, especially sa third set dahil bumalik ‘yung dating character namin na kailangan naming kumapit at tapusin ‘yung game."
Import Yunieska Batista had a game-high 20 points on 19 attacks and one block, Ara Galang had 11 markers, while Pauline Gaston helped the winning crew's scoring with 10.
Chery Tiggo dominated the spiking department with 50 attack points, as Galeries only had 34 converted on 133 attempts.
The Godfrey Okumu-mentored side gave up 20 points on faults, while only suffering eight errors.
Meanwhile, no Highriser had double-digit scoring as Dimdim Pacres and Ivy Perez listed seven points, while Asis, Ronquillo, reinforcement Jelena Cvijović, and Roselle Baliton all had six markers.
