MANILA — Mylene Paat endured a long grueling process in her journey to recovery.

The former Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference Most Valuable Player (MVP) gave a glimpse on how she recovered from a shoulder injury, after tearing her supraspinatus — although she's not yet "a hundred percent."

"Sobrang siyempre, saya ko din po na… hindi ko nga in-expect na mabababad ako ng gano'n katagal kanina," said Paat, referring to her playing time against Akari.

And 'yun nga, sobrang saya ko kasi pinagkakatiwalaan ako ng coaches ko, even though hindi pa ako gano'n ka-hundred percent talaga," she said.

As she nears the anniversary of her operation, the 31-year-old Paat said she kept her faith in God while staying on pace with the Crossovers.

"Actually, sobrang tagal eh. So, one year ako mahigit na nagre-recover.

And of course, 'yung journey ko kasi na habang nagre-recover, up and downs talaga, or downs, downs, downs," she said.

She also drew inspiration from her partner, Kazakh volleyball player Sergey Rezanov.

"Last few months ago kasi nandito siya. So mga 3 months siguro nagtagal siya dito. Habang nag-rerecover ako, tinutulungan niya ako. Habang kahit video call lang, sabihan niya ako, It's time for you to do your range of motions, ganoon. So, ginaguide niya ako lagi na huwag kang tamarin," Paat said.

Despite her comeback, the Crossovers fell flat in their recent two-game run, losing against Zus Coffee and Akari.

For Paat, they need composure in the endgame, echoing the sentiment of coach Norman Miguel.
