MANILA (UPDATED) — PLDT's winning streak has now hit 14 games.
This, as the High Speed Hitters beat Capital1 in straight sets, 25-22, 25-20, 25-23, in the 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference on Monday at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, keeping their unblemished run since the 2025 On Tour and 2025 Invitational.
The two-time PVL titlist is on a bid to make it three crowns in a row, after winning the last two pre-season contests—and the High Speed Hitters are on the right track.
They asserted their will and way on the net, overpowering the Solar Spikers with 16 kill blocks, led by Fil-Canadian Savi Davison, who had 22 points and seven kill blocks.
"In terms of me, I just try to do what I can and figure out kind of what my role is from here on out," expressed Davison during the postgame press conference.
Kianna Dy had 10 points and four blocks, as Russian import Anastasia Bavykina supported with 15 points and 10 excellent receptions.
On the other hand, Capital1 has dropped its second game in a row, but the first was deemed nullified as the league and participating teams agreed to replay the October 7 matches because the imports were only cleared to play on Philippine soil a day later.
Libero and team captain Roma Mae Doromal was stretchered off the court at the 14-12 mark in Set 3, after a save attempt on PLDT's attack.

The live broadcast later on revealed that Doromal had suffered stomach cramps, and could not return to action for the rest of the match.
Oleksandra Bytsenko delivered 20 points and 12 excellent receptions for her team, while top rookie Bella Belen, in her official debut, dropped 13 points and nine excellent digs.
Leading two sets to none, PLDT actually trailed by one point late in the third frame, 20-21, as Belen converted from the backrow.
Davison fired one to knot things up and Dy followed with a kill block as PLDT overtook at 22-21.
An Iris Tolenada service error powered PLDT to match point, 24-22, but Bytsenko prolonged the game further with a through the block kill, 24-23.
Davison finally wrapped things up as she nailed her 22nd point with a sharp spike that the Solar Spikers could not receive.
