MANILA — Cathrine Graversen relished the milestone she made on Monday night—a goal for the Philippines in the inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup.

Graversen was just happy as she made history for the flag, right here on home soil, joining Inday Tolentin as goal-scorers for Filipina5.

"It’s a World Cup, right, everybody wants to score so for me it’s a dream come true," Graversen said in a statement made available to the media. "To do it on your homecourt makes it more exciting and crazy. The atmosphere was just wild."

She was just happy as the Nationals never gave up, despite the Moroccans cruised to three straight goals that saw them at a 2-3 deficit.

It was a better showing for the national team after a 0-6 loss to the Polish earlier in the tournament.

“We created a lot of opportunities and we gave it our all. That's all you can ask, basically,” she said in a statement. “And we fought until the very last minute, even tried ‘power play’ (strategy) to try something different (in the last five minutes).”
