MANILA — Kobey Lam made the pivotal plays in the endgame as Macau slipped past Terrafirma, 96-92, in the PBA Season 50 Governors' Cup on Wednesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Punishing Maverick Ahanmisi's crucial turnover, as Jenning Leung stole the ball at 92-apiece with 14.3 seconds left, the sprinting Lam headed to the other side to convert a fastbreak layup, and even drew a foul on Brent Paraiso for a slim 94-92 lead.

Lam missed the bonus free throw but grabbed the rebound off his own miss, securing the possession for Macau that led to a Damian Chongqui trip to the foul line with just 4.1 seconds on the clock.

Chongqui calmly sank the two freebies for a 96-92 spread, but Terrafirma still had one pathway to tying the game. Unfortunately for Juami Tiongson, his attempt from the second arc badly missed, as Macau earned back-to-back wins.

Lam finished with 12 points and three rebounds, but it was De'Vondre Perry who took much of the scoring load, firing 34 points to go with 14 rebounds. Chongqui, another hero in the clutch for Macau, delivered 29 points as well as three steals.
