MANILA -- San Miguel overcame a shaky start to pull away from Terrafirma, 126-110, and seal their place in the quarterfinals of the PBA Season 50 Commissioner's Cup on Wednesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
The Beermen trailed early, 10-1, before finding their footing and surging to a 23-16 lead after the opening period.
They stayed in control from there, with the lead reaching 20 points, 112-92, in the latter stages.
June Mar Fajardo (30 points, 16 rebounds) and Bennie Boatwright (33 points, 10 rebounds) turned in dominant performances while three other Beermen scored in double-digits.
Mubashar Ali had 28 points while Jerrick Ahanmisi scored 24 in a losing effort for Terrafirma.
The result completed the conference's quarterfinal cast, with Phoenix also securing a berth despite losing to Macau earlier in the night.
Magnolia, TNT, Phoenix and San Miguel all have 6-5 win-loss records.
Terrafirma dropped to 4-7 ahead of their final Commissioner's Cup game against Meralco.
