The guests improved to 2-8, barley squeaking past a Robert Upshaw-less Blackwater side as Sedrick Barefield missed a potential go-ahead four-pointer late, then committed a crucial turnover when the Bossing had another chance to force overtime.
“Our defense was still pretty bad, but our offense did pretty well today,” said Leung, who also had eight assists and eight rebounds, along with four three-pointers.
Aside from Chonqui and Leung, Ramon Cao also delivered with 29 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists, while Tony Mitchell added 11 points, 22 boards, and two blocks.
On the other hand, Christian David and Paul Zamar stepped up in Upshaw’s absence, finishing with 21 points apiece.
Barefield added 18 points, while Dave Murrell and CJ Austria scored 14 each, and BJ Andrade had 12.
Unfortunately, these were not enough as the Bossing absorbed its eighth loss in 10 outings.
