Following his resurgence in the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup, Abueva is bound for a reunion with Converge head coach and Pampanga Vice Governor Delta Pineda.
In exchange, Converge will ship Rey Suerte, King Caralipio, and Mark Omega to Titan.
Despite missing the playoffs in their first conference in the PBA, Abueva rediscovered his old form for Titan, averaging 23.6 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. He finished third in the Best Player of the Conference race.
Meanwhile, Titan bolsters its young core with the addition of the three former FiberXers.
Suerte, a 6-foot-2 guard and the second overall pick of Blackwater in the 2019 Gilas Draft, will get a fresh opportunity with Titan after being placed on Converge’s unrestricted free agent list with rights to salary.
Caralipio, for his part, reunites with fellow former Colegio de San Juan de Letran standouts Fran Yu, Jeo Ambohot, Jerrick Balanza, Pao Javillonar, Kobe Monje, and Ato Ular. Titan also adds another Letran product in the bruising Omega.
