MANILA – San Miguel big man June Mar Fajardo isn't one to shy away from scoring, but there are games where he finds other ways to help the Beermen.
In their 126-114 win over the Converge FiberXers on Wednesday, Fajardo led his team not in the scoring department but in assists.

The Kraken put up 21 rebounds and dished out 10 dimes, along with five points and four blocks in over 39 minutes of play.
For Fajardo, he's willing to take on any role even if it means letting his teammates take over on the offensive end.
"Sobrang dami na naming scorer eh. Yung pinasok ni coach halos lahat scorer yun eh. Yung kulang sa group namin yung role player. So pwede ko i-fill yung gap na yun, yung role na yun," Fajardo told reporters after the victory.
"Yung score naman nila, score ko narin eh. Score yun namin ng team eh... Buti nakuha namin yung panalo. Ayoko makipag-kumpetensiya sa scoring," he added.
Fajardo highlighted the good ball rotation of the Beermen as one of the keys to their win over the FiberXers, something he hopes they carry over to their next games.
With the addition of a prolific scorer like import George King, the Beermen have more options on offense aside from Fajardo, the usual focal point.
San Miguel head coach Leo Austria praised Fajardo for his effort to contribute to the team by creating opportunities for his teammates.
"You can see naman ano, June Mar. He doesn't want to score but he has a lot of rebounds and assists. 10 assists and 21 rebounds. That's a sign of a good player eh. He's not thinking of himself, he's thinking of his teammates," he said during the post-game press conference.
WIth the victory, San Miguel are in solo second with a 5-2 record in Group A.
Fajardo and the Beermen return to action on Saturday to take on the struggling Macau Giant Pandas.
