MANILA — The San Miguel Beermen and the TerraFirma Dyip have shuffled their rosters two days before the opening of the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup.
The PBA announced that San Miguel has acquired the services of floor general Juami Tiongson and forward Andreas Cahilig, while they will be sending veteran guard Terrence Romeo and seldom-used forward Vic Manuel to TerraFirma.
Tiongson, who only played for four games in the Governors’ Cup due to injury, will be looking to regain his form with the Beermen after he only averaged 9.5 points, 3.0 assists, and 1.8 rebounds.
Together with him is Cahilig who posted 5.0 markers and 3.3 boards and shot 32.3 from beyond the arc, and they are hoping to boost the Beermen who are coming off a semifinals exit in the Govs’ Cup.
On the other hand, Romeo and Manuel will be looking to help the slumping TerraFirma who exited the previous conference with only one win in 10 games.
Despite being limited to 21:12 minutes in the eliminations, the former Far Eastern University star still normed 11.2 points, 2.0 assists, and 1.2 rebounds for SMB, and he will also be reuniting with his former NorthPort Batang Pier backcourt mate Stanley Pringle.
Meanwhile, Manuel will be hoping to provide muscle alongside Christian Standhardinger after being stuck on the Beermen’s bench with 3.9 markers and 2.1 boards in 8:50 minutes per game.
