Two Filipino gymnasts competed at the Juniors division of the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships, held in Jecheon, South Korea on Friday, June 6.
Eldrew Yulo, who won gold in the vault at last year’s edition, tallied impressive scores across all six apparatuses, totaling 75.698 points finishing 9th in the individual all around
His highest tallied score came in the floor exercise, where he placed 6th overall with a score of 13.533. He also posted the following scores:
- 13.066 in vault (4th in both attempts)
- 12.733 on horizontal bar (6th)
- 12.633 on pommel horse (9th)
- 11.933 on rings (12th)
- 11.800 on parallel bars (25th
He will have a shot at defending his vault gold medal and compete in floor exercise, horizontal bar, and pommel horse for the apparatus finals happening this weekend.
For fellow Filipino junior Evan Thomas Aliwalas, he finished with a total score of 67.397 putting him at 29 in the standings with:
- 12.266 on floor
- 12.633 on vault
- 11.266 on pommel horse
- 10.500 on rings
- 10.666 on parallel bars
- 10.066 on horizontal bar
Despite missing the podium in the individual all-around, both athletes raised the flag with pride in a highly competitive field of 57 gymnasts from across Asia.
