MANILA – The PLDT High Speed Hitters will be sitting out the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Invitational Conference.
However, this was not due to the team's controversial loss against Akari in the semifinal round of the Reinforced Conference on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The High Speed Hitters already have sent a letter to the PVL last week, according to a reputable source, and it has been approved by the league.
"Yes pero last week pa. Not related to what happened yesterday," the source said.
PLDT eyes rest for now after the bronze medal match on Monday, as the team seeks to recuperate from its players' injuries.
Their semis loss was marred with controversy, specifically a play in Set 5 where the coaching staff challenged for a net fault to no avail.

The semifinalists of the Reinforced Conference were eligible to play for the Invitational tilt, slated this week.
Akari, Creamline, Cignal, and guest teams Kurashiki Ablaze and EST Cola round out the competition, including a replacement team for PLDT.
