MANILA ā Kim Kianna Dy and Dwight Ramos are overcoming their struggles despite being far away from each other ā and we are here for it.
The sports lovebirds have been together since 2020, and the volleyball star shared on Tuesday what it takes to make their long-distance relationship thrive.
"It's not really as hard as people think it is. Communication is really the key to a healthy LDR (long distance relationship)," said Dy.
Dy is currently playing in the Premier Volleyball League in the Philippines, while Ramos ā who is also playing for Gilas Pilipinas ā is in Japan, suiting up for the Levanga Hokkaido in the B.League.

Ramos was retained in Coach Tim Cone's lineup of the revamped national basketball team.
All is well between them despite the overwhelming distance, said the La Salle product.
"We are doing good. Still LDR, but we try and make it work. I mean, there's nothing we can do," said Dy.
Also called by their fans as "KKDwight ," the newcomer of PLDT also shared the perks of having a boyfriend who is also an athlete.
"I feel like, for me, he totally understands how my life is. Not just like the time. [W]hen I'm having a bad day, he knows what to say because nae-experience niya din firsthand," she added.
"I think it's easier because he understands, for example, my training, we can't be with each other all the time nga kasi may training kami, may iba kaming priority na both athletes, as a professional," she went on.
"Sana all," diba?
Staying fit is also on their 2024 bucket list together.
The former F2 star had a knee injury last season. After her former team's disbandment, Dy signed with the PLDT High Speed Hitters for the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference, joining fellow ex-Cargo Movers Majoy Baron and Kim Fajardo.
"2024 goal namin is to be as healthy as possible, especially galing akong injury. So, my goal right now is to come back 100%, if not better, and then siya din," Dy said.
