PFF photoMANILA -- The Philippine women's national team battled to a 2-2 draw against Myanmar to open their campaign in the 2024 ASEAN Women's Futsal Championship, Saturday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
The Pinay 5 led 1-0 at the half courtesy of Isabella Bandoja, but the higher-ranked Myanmar pulled ahead, 2-1, in the second half.
A Yoon Mie Mie Lwin goal gave Myanmar the lead, but just a minute later, Agot Danton responded with the equalizer.

The two teams each have a point after Day 1 of the tournament. Thailand -- ranked sixth in the world -- have three points at the top of the table after a 1-0 win against Indonesia earlier in the day.
The Pinay 5 return to action on Sunday against Thailand.
The tournament features a single round robin elimination round, with the top two teams facing off in a one-game final for the gold while the third- and fourth-placers battle for the bronze.
